Nutmeg Pears with Cashew Butter

Serves 2

Ingredients

2 ripe pears, halved or sliced
1/2 tsp ground nutmeg
1 tsp cinnamon, optional
1 tsp honey or maple syrup, optional
2 tbsp cashew butter
2 tbsp chopped walnuts or pumpkin seeds, optional

Method

Place the pears into a small frying pan or saucepan with a splash of water over medium heat. Sprinkle over the nutmeg and cinnamon if using. Cook for 4 to 5 minutes, turning once, until the pears are tender but still holding their shape. Add the honey or maple syrup if using and allow it to warm through. Arrange the pears in bowls or on a plate, spoon over the cashew butter and finish with walnuts or pumpkin seeds if desired. Serve warm.
