- Honouring Christine Pope & Peter Berryman – New ATMS Life Members
We extend our heartfelt thanks to Christine Pope, our outgoing ATMS President, and Peter Berryman, Past President and Director, for their exemplary leadership and relentless commitment to ATMS and advocating for the natural medicine sector in Australia.

Christine Pope
As a Director, Christine Pope championed numerous initiatives that will leave a lasting impact on our profession and our community, including Natural Medicine Week. Among her many accomplishments, Christine’s advocacy was instrumental in the ongoing support for Chinese Medicine recognition as an Allied Health profession, reflecting her unwavering dedication to strengthening our profession’s standing.
Christine also played a pivotal role in pushing for the finalisation of the NTREAP initiative, demonstrating her tireless pursuit of progress and improvement within our field. The Board’s successful trademark objection of Accredited Nutritionist against Dietitians Australia further highlighted her determination to protect and elevate the standing of our members.

Peter Berryman
Peter Berryman has been an active member of ATMS for 30 years and served on the ATMS Board for 18 years, with 7 years served as President. As President, Peter brought various initiatives to strengthen the Board and its activities, along with providing invaluable service and advocacy for ATMS and its members.
Peter is a big supporter of Natural Medicine Week and has written articles and is a peer reviewer for the Journal of ATMS (JATMS). He has also served for 15 years at the Homeopathic clinic at the Woodford Folk Festival, providing free services and raising awareness of natural therapy benefits. Peter is a mentor and guide to many practitioners and ATMS members.
We are also delighted to announce the appointment of two new Life Members – Christine Pope and Peter Berryman.
This honour reflects their exceptional contributions and commitment to ATMS and the broader field of natural medicine. Christine and Peter have each demonstrated an extraordinary passion for advancing our profession and supporting practitioners across the country over decades of service.
“It was a proud moment and highlight of my career to induct Christine and Peter to Life Membership of ATMS. Life Membership in ATMS represents one of the most prestigious achievements in a professional career. It is an honour granted to individuals who have demonstrated exceptional dedication, contribution, and service to ATMS, its members, and the broader profession throughout their distinguished careers.” ~ Dr Brad McEwen.
It is with immense pride and gratitude that we welcome them as Life Members.
