Hypnosis is a natural state of relaxation, which individuals allow themselves to enter under the guidance of a clinical Hypnotherapist. In the hypnotic state, beneficial suggestions may be given more directly to the part of the mind known as the subconscious. In Hypnosis, the subconscious mind, which influences mental and physical functions, is more accessible and receptive to suggestions and other more advanced techniques.
Clinical Hypnotherapy is the process in which the state of Hypnosis is utilised for therapy. A person enters the hypnotic state with the aim of achieving deep relaxation or changing specific behaviours, habits and physical conditions by addressing conflicting emotions, attitudes and beliefs. Hypnotherapy is used in a variety of conditions and assists with anxiety control, stress-related illness, motivation, attitude change, self-esteem, self-confidence, depression, eating disorders, fears and phobias, memory training, panic attacks, performance anxiety, sexual dysfunction, sleep disorders, stuttering, study problems, trauma, pain control, irritable bowel syndrome, personal development and the cessation of smoking, nail biting and thumb sucking.
In the relaxed hypnotic state, the client experiences a focused attention which allows them to gain insight and change limiting beliefs and behaviours. Clinical Hypnotherapy is a completely safe and natural form of therapy which enables the subconscious mind to maximise the individual’s potential.
