Your obligations as a member
Continuing Professional Education (CPE)
Each Accredited Member accepts the professional obligation to regularly update clinical skills and professional knowledge. The ATMS Continuing Professional Education (CPE) Policy requires an Accredited Member to accumulate 20 CPE points per financial year, with each year being from 1 July to 30 June. Some Health Funds require at least 20 CPE hours/points per year directly related to the therapy concerned, to be completed within a membership year.
Current Professional Indemnity Insurance
Each Accredited Member must maintain a current professional indemnity insurance policy. Please ensure that there is no break or gap in cover, and that policy coverage is continuous for all periods. Members with a break or gap in cover will lead to the loss of recognition with health funds.
Current First Aid Certificate
Each Accredited Member must maintain a current Provide First Aid Certificate. Please ensure that there is no break or gap in cover, and that the Provide First Aid (or equivalent) Certificate is continuous for all periods. Members should be aware that a break or gap in cover will lead to the loss of recognition with health funds.
Payment of Membership Fees
The membership year for ATMS is 1 July to 30 June. ATMS membership is for a fixed term so there is no refund.

Online Application Requirements
Your contact details
Provide your full name, phone number, email address, and postal address.
Certified qualifications (including academic transcripts)
- Include all qualifications relevant to your practice.
- Submit academic transcripts for each qualification as proof of completion.
Provide First Aid certificate
- Ensure your First Aid certification is current.
- Submit a copy of HLTAID Provide First Aid.
Professional Indemnity Insurance
- Include a copy of your insurance policy showing current coverage.
- Ensure the policy matches the requirements for your modality and practice.
Association membership certificate
Provide a copy of your membership certificate or proof of current membership.
Provider Numbers (If Applicable)
- Details of All Current Provider Numbers:
- Submit the exact provider numbers issued by the health funds you are registered with.
- Associated Clinic Addresses:
- Include the full street addresses (no PO Box) of all clinics linked to your provider numbers.

Health Fund Eligibility
ATMS is a ‘professional organisation’ within the meaning of section 10 of the Private Health Insurance Accreditation Rules 2011. This potentially allows ATMS accredited members to be recognised as approved providers by the various private health funds. Approved health fund provider status is, however, subject to each individual health fund’s requirements. Consequently, membership of ATMS does not automatically guarantee provider status with all health funds.
