ATMS spoke to Jenetta Haim, owner of Stressfree Management ® and author of Stress-Free Health Management – A Natural Solution for Your Health.

Q: How did you get started in natural medicine?

I was about fifteen years old and my mum told me about having a natural diet and food combining. I started off with an interest in nutrition and began reading about fasting.

Even though I’ve had other jobs while learning different modalities, I’ve always been very passionate about this topic. I started very early and I can honestly say it’s been a lifelong passion.

Q: What kind of work do you do?

I run a natural services clinic where I offer a number of modalities.

I’m a qualified Naturopathic Nutritionist, Hypnotherapist, Reiki Master, NLP practitioner and Theta Healer. I have also done counselling and aromatherapy since opening my clinic Stressfree Management ®.

I expanded into different modalities because I found that one modality doesn’t always hit the nail on the head with my clients. Combining diet, nutrition and energy work means the approach encompasses every angle resulting in a more holistic outcome.

Q: What are you passionate about?

I’m very, very passionate about empowering my clients and showing natural health isn’t just an alternative therapy.

I’m also very passionate about collaborating with mainstream medical professionals. It’s about working hand-in-hand not only to empower the people I see, but to spread the word to improve Australia’s medical system.

Q: Do you have a remarkable success story?

I’ve never forgotten this client. She was a mother of two children and was experiencing panic attacks, anxiety and depression, affecting her eating and sleeping habits.

We combined a whole load of therapies including energy work and hypnotherapy, while also looking at her nutrition and hormone levels.

After nine months of a strict regime using a combination of these therapies, she had a massive turning point. One day I went to her place for our appointment and she told me she had put the kids in the car and driven to Ulladulla by herself. This is a lady with agoraphobia, who felt incompetent at looking after her children on her own. This was an amazing milestone for her.

It took us a while, but she got there.

Q: Do you have any advice for young practitioners starting out in the industry?

Make sure you learn everything you need to learn but remember that your client is not a textbook, your client is an individual. As you start to put everything into practice from your courses, you will find that people don’t fit the mould. When people don’t fit the mould, it’s not the person that needs to change, it’s the mould that has to change to fit the person. That’s when you rely on your intuition and experience.

Q: What challenges have you experienced within the industry?

I find it very challenging when someone comes to see me, and they’re so down on themselves. One side of them wants to help themselves and the other side says, I can’t do this. That’s one of the reasons I learned modalities like hypnotherapy and NLP, because I can help with the psychological/mental side of things.

A lot of people don’t realise sometimes all they need to do is put their foot in the right direction and the next foot follows.

Q. So what’s next for you?

On the first Wednesday of every month I run groups at the clinic teaching meditation, mindfulness and stress management. On the third Wednesday every month there is another group practicing Reiki. I also teach a number of courses.

I have also published a book called Stress-Free Health Management – A Natural Solution for Your Health. At the front of the book are several chapters summarising different modalities, and what their benefits are, and then it goes into nutritional and energetic recommendations for specific illnesses, mediation and personal development. I’ve kept it simple, so everyone can understand and enjoy it.
