1. What is your role at your organisation and how do you support practitioners /or the industry?

My role is Head of Sales and Education. I support practitioners / and the industry by the following but not limited to:

  • education/training of current and emerging raw materials, regulatory affairs, formulas to individual and groups of practitioners  
  • involvement of product formulations
  • involvement of the development of education and ideas: webinars, podcasts, printed materials etc
  • hosting webinars
  • liaising with KOLs, colleges, associations etc
  • representation of brand at trade shows, events etc
  • involvement in go to market strategy, budgets etc
  • lead a team of sales/education consultants and everything that is involved with their territories decisions, budgets, career growth etc
  • technical support for our products and clinical testing 
  • involvement of marketing of the brand and giving guidance to practitioners in this area

2. How did you get into your area of expertise and why do you stay?

Clinical practice since 1997 and owned a health food store also then opened a multi-modality clinic after 13 years of running 3 businesses I burnt out. Sold everything and wanted to explore the other side of the industry whilst still maintaining a private practice. Started working in sales and education for BioCeuticals then moved to a senior role in Designs for Health as a start up opportunity. I stay because each day I am learning and being challenged and no 2 days are the same.

3. What has been the main focus or outcomes of your work over the past year?

Development of the brand and its products as well as the education of our practitioner community.

4. How has your field changed in the past 5 years? What new areas are emerging?

The field has changed with more of a focus of GUT and mental health with more research and focus here. New areas emerging are more ingredients that are clinically trialled with proprietary ingredients and patents. Also, as integrative medical practitioners we have more function testing available to us. 

5. What do you predict will happen in the next 5 to 10 years in your particular field?

In the next 5-10 years my predictions are that we will have more access to more functional testing for our patients. Also, there will be more of a focus on mental and cardio vascuar health and anti-ageing. 

6. What is the one-way you believe natural medicine practitioners, can make a difference for their clients?

The one-way CMP can make a difference to their patients is to keep an open mind when it comes to ingredients and brands and stay up to date with the latest research and offerings.
