Q&As

How did you get into your area of expertise, and why do you stay?

I’ve always been passionate about business and entrepreneurship. After completing a business degree, working in digital marketing, and running two businesses, I started my third after completing my naturopathy qualification. Even though I was passionate about health, I found I missed helping others with the operational and tech side of business. I stayed because I love seeing other small business owners find flow with their operations and marketing.

What has been the main focus or outcomes of your research/work over the past year?

My focus and passion are on the health of the business and the health of the self – we need both to succeed. There needs to be congruency with how you show up in life and how you show up in business

How has your field changed in the past 5 years? What new areas are emerging?

Over the last 5 years, I’ve seen huge emphasis on social media to really power-up business marketing – with the keyword being ‘social’. We need to be strategic and play the (ever-changing) game while also harnessing the power of human connection.

What do you predict will happen in the next 5 to 10 years in your particular field?

Like the growing movement of wholefoods and sustainable food practices, I feel the landscape of social media marketing is heading away from huge ‘likes’/numbers and influencer status, and more towards smaller scale influence but with a greater focus on bigger connections between businesses and their loyal tribes.

What is the number one way natural medicine practitioners can make a dramatic impact to attract clients?

Streamlining their operations, so they can really focus on their client outcomes and experience.

What’s the questions you get asked the most often in your field, and how do you answer it?

That’s a hard question! Most people get caught up in tech or in the details of how to get from A to B, but I just love to quote Marie Forleo – Everything is figureoutable! Take the first step, learn one thing, then build from there.

Fun Fact for the Readers: Tell us who inspires you / or who your professional idol is and why?

There are so many, but one who consistently inspires me would be Lisa Messenger. She’s a disruptor and a game changer, and I love how she brings a fresh operational outlook to different industries.
