Effective communication in TCM and acupuncture practice is one of the most important skills that TCM and acupuncture practitioners should strive to acquire. It is very much so especially when the practitioners are from a non-English speaking background while the patients are native English speakers. It is about “makes” or “breaks”. Good communication may allow the patients to be psychologically ready for, and confident in, the clinical services delivered by the practitioners. The clinical outcome may be more positive, while communication breakdown between TCM and acupuncture practitioners and their patients may lead to serious problems. The trust and confidence of the patients on the practitioners could break, which may lead to the clinical outcome being undesirably negative.

In this webinar, I will identify the common communication problems in acupuncture and TCM practice. These may be, but not limited to:
. Language barrier;
. Cultural differences;
. Ideological and religious issues;
. Sociological issues;
. Educational background.

Develop skills in:
. English language in the application of clinical practice.
. Building up confidence and trust of the patients in the treatment plan conducted by the practitioners.
. Being knowledgeable about health issues.
. Enhancing the ability of the practitioners to handle difficult situations, e.g. confronting a challenging patient.
. Confidence in the service prices, and commitment in delivering quality services.
