Trigger points are a common source of pain and dysfunction affecting the myofascial system. Left unchecked they may lead to muscle inhibition and increased tension, therefore affecting the balance around joints and the possibility leading to the chronicity of pain.

The popularity of this therapy is due to the large amount of scientific research that has taken place around the globe, and its favorable clinical outcomes in everyday practice.

Theoretical Component – Will look at new developments in our understanding of the nature, clinical characteristics and pathophysiology of myofascial trigger points.

Practical Component- Assessment and Treatment – Treatment is aimed at inactivating trigger points, decreasing pain, correcting biomechanical and postural dysfunctions, restoring normal movement patterns, therefore restoring strength by decreasing inhibition.

. Learn to accurately identify and palpate trigger points and assess myofascial tension within specific muscles.
. Techniques for the treatment of the most common trigger points in the upper body.
. Common articular dysfunctions that are related to myofascial Trigger points.
